The hiring company is a global leader in advanced energy materials, committed to driving innovation in sustainable technologies. With a strong international footprint and a reputation for excellence, they are now seeking for a Head of R&D to oversee the cutting-edge R&D centre in Hong Kong.

Job Description

  • Develop and execute R&D strategies aligned with business objectives and emerging technologies in the lithium industry.
  • Oversee the design and testing of new products or processes.
  • Monitor industry trends and advancements to identify new opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and sustainability goals.
  • Manage budgets and resources to optimise project efficiency.
  • Collaborate with global stakeholders on technology transfer and commercialisation of new products.
  • Lead the research and development team, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.

The Successful Applicant

  • Masters/ PHD degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in R&D for lithium batteries and materials, ideally SSB related, with proven leadership in setting up research facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of lithium compounds, processing technologies, and applications in energy storage.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams, manage complex projects, and deliver innovative solutions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Highly fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin
