Job Description

  • Develop and maintain reusable, efficient, and scalable UI components for our components library.
  • Collaborate effectively with web designers, providing quick prototypes for particular UI components.
  • Work to ensure our web applications meet WCAG 2.0 and WAI accessibility standards.
  • Translate stakeholders' needs into functional framework solutions.
  • Manage issues with team stakeholders on the framework library.
  • Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
  • Perform diagnostic and integration tasks with server-side microservices.
  • Led and mentored a small team of junior developers based at our overseas development centre, maintaining effective communication and collaboration despite the geographical distance.
  • Participate in code reviews to maintain high-quality code.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.

The Successful Applicant

  • University graduate in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration or related disciplines.
  • Proven experience as a Front End Developer or similar role, specifically in developing UI framework components.
  • Excellent knowledge of CSS, TypeScript, Node.js, and Angular.
  • Familiarity with Angular Universal and Kubernetes or OpenShift architecture is a plus.
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor a remote team of junior developers.
  • Experience in responsive web design and working with server-side microservices.
  • Familiarity with the web design of Hong Kong government websites is a plus.
  • Proven experience ensuring web accessibility and familiarity with WCAG 2.0 and WAI standards.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with a remote team and web designers.
